Course Overview

Our comprehensive program is split into two distinct parts and spans a total of 10 weeks. The program comprises 90 hours of in-class learning coupled with an in house hands on practicum.

This single course, integral for completion of the program, is a blend of theory, lab work, and hands-on experience. It provides students with a foundational understanding of phlebotomy and the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system. The curriculum covers critical areas such as specimen collection (incorporating venipuncture and skin punctures), specimen processing and handling, infection control, bloodborne pathogens, workplace safety, and laboratory operations, which include safety measures and quality control.

A key aspect of this course is a mandatory 40-hour clinical practicum or externship. This will be carried out at a local physician office, clinic, or hospital in an approved laboratory setting. As a prerequisite to sit for the NHA CPT exam, students will need to successfully perform a minimum of thirty (30) unaided venipunctures and ten (10) capillary sticks on live individuals.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to sit for the NHA exam to officially earn the title of a Phlebotomy Technician, also known as CPT.

** TUITION INCLUDES BOOKS & UNIFORM, NHA EXAM IS NOT INCLUDED**

** If you are registering for evening classes, please add “evening” to your last name when registering. For example: Jane Doe – evening.**

PAYMENT PLAN (Phlebotomy Program)

An initial registration payment of $125 is required at the time of application. Subsequently, students must pay a sum of $275 biweekly towards their tuition, for a total of 9 weeks (5 payments) to satisfy financial obligations. Please note, students will not be permitted to attend class until biweekly fees are fully paid – there will be no exceptions, and refunds are not available.

3rd Party Vendors- NMTC does accept 3rd party payments, however the vendor must pay all fees in full in order for the student to receive their certification. If for any reason funds are not paid in full by vendor, financial responsibility is directed to  the student.

In the event a student is unable to participate in the class they’ve registered for, the registration fee may be applied to future courses within a 30-day period. It is necessary to notify us one week before the start of the class by emailing contact.nurturingminds@gmail.com. Failing to do so will result in forfeiture of the registration fee, and the student will be required to pay the registration fee again for future classes.
